    We've been in business since 2011 and we are convinced that the goal of every business is to listen to their community, give their customers what they ask for, and enrich the communities they are a part of.

     

    We are passionate about saving the planet by getting more people on bikes. ​True success comes when people are given the tools necessary to own their own destiny and the education necessary to be self reliant.

     

    We want to make riding a bike easy and affordable and mostly, we want to see more people riding bikes in and around Porirua by providing top quality, affordable servicing and products. Ours is a bespoke, artisan service with the personal touch.

     

    Porirua is a great city, and it's only getting better. So in everything we do, we're all about supporting our local community. 'Go by Bike' days, 'Green Bike Days', free fix up days, school galas, local events - we out there amongst it - giving back to the community we love the most. Need sponsorship? Hit us up and we'll see what we can do!

    And of course it's not just about the bikes - we have a cafe serving great coffee from Ripe, award winning gelato and sorbet from Zelati , cakes, treats and delicious DIY salad.  The majority of our fair is all locally sourced and all of our packaging is compostable and eco friendly. For the art lovers our small but sweet art gallery showcases the work of local artists and is also a cosy place to sit and enjoy your refreshments on those 'not so nice' days.

     

    We have an extensive event calendar that includes our weekly live entertainment line up, art exhibitions openings, school holiday activities as well as a range of special, one off events around special occasions such as Mothers Day and Christmas.     The other very important aspect of who we are as a business, is who we are as a family. As you can imagine, a blended family of 9 isn't necessarily a walk in the park so we've had to work hard to grow in to a team. We're not perfect and we're definitely a work in progress but we're getting there! On any given day you'll find one or more of us behind the counter at the Bicycle Cafe - hopefully not having a 'work in progress' moment.
